 Redirect Loop
Author: T.Worthington   (17 May 09 9:16pm)
When I attempt to look up an IP address http://www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_96.255.62.125, Firefox reports:

"...detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

I also have had the same problem.

I did contact them yesterday afternoon(17.05.09), but to date still no reply.

Doing a tracert it gets a far as ip 4.53.74.54 which is Level 3, before it does a "request timed out".

I'm guessing, but could it be either a router is down or maybe a firewall is blocking incoming traffic?

I have just sent the following as so far I have not received a reply:

This is my 2nd request asking why the search page does not work (http://www.projecthoneypot.org/search_ip.php).

I have posted a comment on your message board as well, neither of which have been replied to to date.

The problem as I have seen it from here is as follows:

1. Searches work for a previously searched ip address

2. New searches end as follows using firefox:

"Redirect Loop - Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked"

Also when I tried the same search yesterday using IE it just hung.

3. Doing a tracert it gets as far as ip 4.53.74.54 which is Level 3 in Detroit, before it does a "request timed out".

I look forward to receiving your reply.

Followup:

I phoned Unspam as no one replied to either of my 2 e-mails or replied here and was told that they are aware of the problem and that the problem should be resolved today.

We had a problem with one of the slave databases which caused redirection loops for some users. The issue has been resolved. Apologize for not getting back to your emails in a timely matter. With a limited staff, when things break we usually try and fix them first and respond to emails about them later.
