What are they used for?

Hello guys!

I've read the FAQ and I'll donate a couple of subdomains, but I still didn't understand. What exactally are these domains are they used for? How are they used?

Does Honey Pot add fake mails in webpages and then see when spam is sent to them? Sorry but it isn't really clear to me :-x
