Installing Honey Pots

Error Message

When I try to execute mt-projecthoneypot.cgi, I get the following error:

An error occurred: Can't locate Locale/Maketext.pm in @INC (@INC contains: ./plugins ./lib /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at lib/MT/L10N.pm line 7. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at lib/MT/L10N.pm line 7. Compilation failed in require at lib/MT.pm line 1099.

I re-checked all of the file locations and permissions. The path to perl is the same in the honey pot script as it is in my other working cgi scripts.

Any ideas what's causing this?

We've seen a number of problems with the MT Plugin. While it works in some MT installations, it hasn't in others. We made a tweak to the Plugin that MAY solve the problem for some users. You can get a copy of it by going to:

Please do note that even if you are having trouble with the MT Plugin you can still install a honey pot on your site. The MT Plugin simply helps you automatically add links to your blog that will be followed by harvesters but are invisible to human visitors. You can still do this manually. To do this, visit the Linking Instructions page for the honey pot you're trying to install. Also if you continue to have problems you can install the Perl version of the honey pot and will be walked through the manual installation process.

Sorry for the initial problems! Hopefully our new version of the MT Plugin will clear many of them up.
