What to do if you discover your IP is the Black List?
Author: V.Holubeva   (21 Nov 10 12:32pm)
I have read here everything what I could find on this, and still it's not clear.

Whitelisting
This could work, if I were spamming and then decided to stop. But I never did anything of the kind. Some half a year ago I started receiving e-mail addressed to me and sent from my e-mail account. I thought that the sender was just using my e-mail address as a ficticious e-mail address. But now I think that the mailing can be actually done from my PC through a resident program. Is this possible? And how to detect this program, if the soft ware I have tried has not found anything?

IN this case - if the resident program remain - how can whitelisiting help? In a few days the IP would be blacklisted again.

So, what can I do? I would really appreciate.

Sounds like the issue is you have to make sure your computer is not hijacked and sending out spam through a backdoor.

Perhaps it is best to seek the advice of http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic34773.html

And yes I have ended up on a black list before when my computer got infected thanks to a family member. I have since wiped the computer and have had no issues and contacted the blacklist that had blacklisted me and got whitelisted and will remain white listed til any further problem .. which there has been none for over a year now. There is no sense whitelisting your IP if you suspect your computer is sending out spam.
