How to explain MX record donation to webhost
Author: T.Hosting   (24 Sep 09 9:03pm)
I asked y webhost if donating an MX record to projecthoneypot.org would be allowed. They want me to elobarate and explain. What's the best way to do so? I'm really not good at explaining this.

Nevermind, I explained what Project Honeypot was and they said it was ok. So, I went ahead and donated an MX record.

Would donating more than one from the same domain, under different subdomains be effective?

From one of the other threads ... some are upto abt 40+ records !!!

I've just managed to set my 1st record - when you're new to the control panels for dns hosting & allocating MX records without 'breaking' anything it has been quite a trip !!

For me, i made a subdomain and allocated its MX entry to the honeypot server. It seems to be to try and not make a (sub)domain obvious as a trap.

I'm awaiting clearance to actually install a honey-pot (currently using QuickLinks).

But, heck, I'm learning stuff about dns, cname, a records & mx records - lol

I hope that things go well.

Regards,

Phill.
