 API not working?
Author: X.Robin   (24 Oct 10 7:47am)
Hello,

I'm trying to use http:BL. For instance with bad IP 88.85.229.98 http://projecthoneypot.org/ip_88.85.229.98.

I build the request as: myKey.98.229.85.88.dnsbl.httpbl.org with myKey replaced by my Access Key given on the home page.

However I get no answer:

dig myKey.98.229.85.88.dnsbl.httpbl.org

; <<>> DiG 9.7.0-P1 <<>> myKey.98.229.85.88.dnsbl.httpbl.org
;; global options: +cmd

Surprisingly when I do the test with IP 127.1.1.7 as stated on the help page, I get an answer:

myKey.7.1.1.127.dnsbl.httpbl.org. 21600 IN A 127.1.1.7

Am I doing something wrong? Or is there an issue with http:BL?

Thanks,
Xavier

It seems to be working again…

Down again! Several comment spammers got through, even though they are listed as comment spammer on the web page (e.g http://projecthoneypot.org/ip_80.67.13.92)

Are there know reliability issues?

I know that "me too" posts are probably discouraged on this forum, but I'm experiencing this, too.

Should we instead write a tool to query the project honeypot web interface? (and/or, is there a way to bulk download the database, and then I can do the queries on my own machine?)

I have this problems in the last few days, too. Can anybody help?

Hmm, just trying to use http:BL and having the same problem with the dig command... Only the IP address in the manual seems to work and give me an answer... :-(
