Installing Honey Pots

500 Internal Server Error/chmod error

I have installed the script in my root directory per the directions and attempted to chmod the file to 644. This is the error message I receive:

Status: Set permissions of '/dovesreserve.php' to '644'
Command: SITE CHMOD 644 dovesreserve.php
Response: 550 Could not change perms on dovesreserve.php: Permission denied

I am hosted on godaddy if it makes a difference. I haven't had any other problems sitting permissions on files until this one. Any suggestions or recommendations to make it work?
