Problem with "Add a Honey Pot" form
Author: C.Ball   (26 Jan 05 3:37pm)
I have tried adding my web site's address several times, but the form keeps rejecting it.

I do not have a domain name, but I do have a static IP which is hosting a website. Do I need a domain name in order to host a honeypot? And, if so, why?

Thanks,
C.Ball

An interesting question. Right now it does require a domain on that form, however you are correct that there's really no reason for that. We're going to look at whether we can tweak the system to allow for IPs. Check back again in 48 hours and my guess is that you'll be able to create IP-based honey pots without needing to enter a domain.

I'll try to remember to post here as soon as the new version is up and running.

PS - IPv4 for now. IPv6 may take us a while longer to support.... :-)

The system supports IPs just fine; unfortunately a regex was keeping static IPs out. That has been fixed; try creating a pot. Hopefully all goes smoothly :)

Thanks. The download went without a hitch and I should have the script up and running later today.
