 IP TABLES Usage?
Author: D.White12   (17 Dec 10 9:51am)
I've got 2 questions, but I'm going to break them up into 2 separate posts....

My 2nd question:
I'm wondering if there's a way to forgo the HTTP Blacklist all together, and be able to obtain the IP addresses listed in Project Honey Pot's Blacklist, and query them from my linux firewall or from IP Tables or something every 24 hours or so....

Project Honeypot charges US$6.200 annually to download the DNS zone file that was what I was told by the admin.

What you can do is copy the top 50 ips on a daily basis then sooner or later you will have it.
Or download a spammer ip list from http://www.stopforumspam.com/downloads/

I actually thought about going ahead and implementing the top 50 - but I think I would want to leave it at that. Spammers move around a lot, and they also hijack IP addresses a lot - I don't want to block legitimate traffic, which is why I think it would make sense to refresh the list every 24 hours or something.
