question about number of spam traps issued on my site

I just installed a honeypot on my Wordpress blog, and installation went very smooth. I know its working because my logs show that I caught my first comment spammer.

i do have a concern. When I first checked my stats, it said that there were 5 spam traps issued on my site. 5 corresponded to the links that I put in on my various pages. But when I checked my stats today, they said that I had 27 Spam traps issued on my site. Since I didn't add anymore links to the site, is this change in number anything I have to worry about?

oh - I just answered my own question. The number of spam traps issued are the number of visitors who triggered the trap and not the number of links that I posted in the pages.

Yep. Actually can be a bit more complex than that since each visitor can be handed more than one spamtrap. But, generally, you've got it.
