If I recall correctly, PHP plans to include a copy of spam received in the Data & Statistics in the future. My first question is, until then, would it be possible to have the spam forwarded to us.
The reason I ask is that I feel a little naked when I send a report without the spam, and I like to report violators of the CAN-SPAM Act, because I always advise their service providers of the risk they take by not reporting violators to the FTC and, in the case of registrars, not placing the domain on registrar-hold. It doesn't seem to do a lot of good, but, since I always BCC a copy to the FTC, they could use that report and recommendation if they ever decide to take on a registrar or other service provider who failed to take appropriate action, and report the violator separately to the FTC.
If PHP does this (uses the same ploy in their report), please let me know.
I understand too that PHP reports spam to law enforcement. I do however not know which agencies are made recipients fo the reports. In the US, as an example, does PHP report only to the FTC, or to state agencies that may also be interested in a particular instance of spam? Are reports sent to agencies in other nations as well? If so, would it be possible to identify sources of information about agencies around the World. The information about international laws and reporting procedures that I have found so far has been of no help.
