hidden e-mail-adress

If I hide the mailto: and the e-mail-adress i.e. with javascript and the user clicks on the adress, the mail program is opened and my e-mail-adress is visible.
Can't the spam-bot simulate this action and read the adress in the e-mail 'send to'?

Yes, harvesters could theoretically execute javascript the same way your browser does. However, that would significantly slow down their ability to harvest, and potentially open them to attacks (such as sites which create infinite loops or otherwise delay the harvester). To date, we have not found any significant harvester that can defeat the javascript we suggest using to hide email addresses on your website.
