 CF version?
Author: J.Fix   (27 Jan 05 2:12pm)
I noticed in some of the notes that ASP and CF versions are possible for the future. I see an ASP version is coming soon...what is the status of a CF version? I've got some limited CF coding experience so feel free to add me to any list of people willing to assist in getting a CF version up and running. Thanks!

John

ColdFusion version of the honey pot script is now online!

I downloaded the CF version but got an error after placing it on my website. Does the code contain any CFMX specific features or will it run on CF5?

I'll try and debug tomorrow.

OK, here's the error:

Error Diagnostic Information
Just in time compilation error

Invalid token found on line 50 at position 8. ColdFusion was looking at the following text:
_

Looks like CF 5 doesn't like the underscore "_" character. Was that ability added with CFMX? If so then you may want to speficy the version the script requires both on the website and in the .cfm file.

Thanks!

Yep, the problem seems to be that older versions of CF don't like variables that begin with underscores (or other non-alpha characters). We're testing a fixed version and, as soon as we know it's stable, will roll it out on the site.

Sorry for the problem. Fix should be up within the next 48 hours (probably sooner).

Sorry about that John; thanks for the debugging help. The new CF script is now online. We've tested it on developement -- but not with a CF5 environment. Hopefully it works OK time. :)

Still not good...getting an error:

Error Diagnostic Information

An error occurred while evaluating the expression:

checkDirective(returnVars.directives,1)

Error near line 209, column 6.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error near line 198, column 47.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error resolving parameter ARGUMENTS.DIRECTIVES

ColdFusion was unable to determine the value of the parameter. This problem is very likely due to the fact that either:

You have misspelled the parameter name, or
You have not specified a QUERY attribute for a CFOUTPUT, CFMAIL, or CFTABLE tag.

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFIF), occupying document position (209:1) to (209:46) in the template file d:\Website\clients\warmfusion\htdocs\pariansprier.cfm.

Yikes. Sorry about the hassle. We are definatley running into compatibility issues between MX and non-MX versions of CF. Until we can secure a CF5 enabled webserver the chances of us releasing a stable CF5 script are a bit bleak.

I've posted a request for an account:

If anyone could provide one it would be much appreciated.

Jeff (our CF contributor) was able to get his hands on a CF5 machine and make the needed changes. Thanks Jeff!

The new script is now online -- you'll have to download the new version again though. Thanks for putting up with all the trouble.

Downloaded and it works fine...thanks! Probably best that it works with the "lowest common denominator" version of CF anyway so it can get the widest distribution.

BTW, I can set you up with an account if future changes to Project Honeypot require changes in the CF version of the script.
