Installing Honey Pots

Validation error

I'm also getting a validation error; I assume because of something that's going back to the server incorrectly from the script.

I assume you can figure out all my details from here? Anything I need to do from my end?

We're a webhosting company in Australia, about 1000 clients, setting this up on an unused domain.

BTW - a bit more info to make this more useful - standard cpanel server, unzipped on the server itself, running PHP4 under Apache 1.3. Willing to work with you to get this going, and if it doesn't work on our fairly stock standard cpanel servers it's not going to work for a lot of places ...

Would love to get this going, would like access to the data (and to contribute, of course!); let me know if you need more info!

ps: script is default page at http://www.bcfilt.com for now - ie http://www.bcfilt.com/index.php

pps: have re-uploaded script several times, by scp of the zip file, and then unzip on server, so definitely not corrupted via FTP ...

Odd, the honey pot validated fine when I tested it. There might have been networking hiccup earlier.

Ahhh ... I wonder if the problem is related to firewalling. Do you use port 80 to dial back to your server? If not, my firewall would probably block it.

OK - I know what the problem is. The honeypot displays OK if I go to the full URL. It doesn't display if I go to the domain and allow the Apache indexing rules to display index.php. That is, it works on www.bcfilt.com/index.php and fails on www.bcfilt.com.

Should be rather easy to fix in your code ...
