Adding the link in the header.php
Author: D.Taylor   (7 Dec 04 7:58pm)
The header.php file is loaded each and every time a page is loaded in PHPNuke on a website. I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to just add one of the links in this page, and thus it is on every page hit on the entire web site.

I checked this on several pages on my site, and it always shows the link in the view => source text. I figure I could just change the single link every so often to confuse the harvesters.

This sound ok, or could this be a problem?

you can view the website and look at the view source code here:

Thanks for any input.

There shouldn't be any problem including the link in the PHPnuke header.

I checked out your source code and it looks perfect. You can, over time, manually mix up the link format, or you could include more than one, although I doubt either will be necessary. If we figure out that harvesters are screening out a particular link style -- and we have ways to watching harvester behavior and making educated guesses as to how smart they are -- we'll let our members know and you can adjust.

Watch your pages for information on harvesters to roll in. Thanks for your question. And welcome to the Project!
