 RSS Feeds
Author: D.Bunyard   (9 Jun 08 10:23pm)
Alright, I have been playing with this for a few days now, and can't seem to make it work. Now I will point on that I am not an expert in RSS, far from it, and actually know very little about them. But I have the URL to one of my feeds (http://www.projecthoneypot.org/bsh_X19tb2RlPXVzcl9ocC40NTg4Mg..&rss=1) and I can open it just fine in my browser (Firefox 3). However, when I embed it into my web site using Javascript, I always get an "Server returned HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable" error. Is there some sort of guide or FAQ on the proper way to display the feeds on an HTML/PHP web page? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

The problem is that we've got the site down for maintenance mode. We still allow access if you're logged in. We store login information in a cookie on your browser. When you're accessing the RSS feed via the browser you'll be able to access it because you're logged in. When you make it one of your feeds it's accessed without passing the login cookie and so you won't be able to see the feed.

Unfortunately, there's no particularly easy way to solve this in the short term. In the longer term, we really are making progress fixing our back-end problems in order to accommodate our increased scale. As soon as that's finished, the RSS feeds will work again.

Sorry for the trouble!

I'm assuming this is still being worked on, as I can't do anything with my RSS feeds outside of the browser. Would that be accurate?

Is this still a problem?
I'm seeing a "No feed found" when I try to publish the RSS-stream on my personal site.
