Installing Honey Pots

Yahoo Groups?

Is it possible to install a honeypot onto a Yahoo group? I run a number of groups in the Freecycle network and find that we often get spammers joining and spreading their crap :-( I have tried to go through the installation procedure but it keep sthrowing up errors about the address that I simply do not understand.

So, is it possible?

I doubt it's possible to install a honey pot script. Yahoo seems likely to restrict out-bound connections, which would keep the honey pot from connecting with the central servers to get new spam trap addresses and report the handouts it's made.

On the other hand, you should be able to include a QuickLink. That will, effectively, accomplish the same goals. Just follow the instructions for QuickLinking from your home screen on the Project Honey Pot site.
