 Honey Pot Script as SSI
Author: J.Yard2   (21 Apr 07 2:05pm)
Will my Honey Pot work correctly if installed as a server side include rather than as a link?

For Instance:

Main page includes a link to page xyz
<a href=http://domain.tld/xyz.html> </a>

Page xyx performs an server side include of the Honey Pot PHP script.
<!--#include virtual="/HoneyPot.php" -->

The purpose for this would be to prevent the spam bot harvesters from avoiding links to what is obviously a script, such as this <a href="http://domain.tld/HoneyPot.php"> </a>.

I think that should work fine, but test it out and see. You may need to validate the script using the raw URL to the script so our verispider can find it and doesn't get confused.

As an aside, our experience is that robots don't avoid php or other script pages -- so may be extra work for not much benefit.

Matthew.
