Exactly the same as K.Brandt below over a period of 6 days. Manifested itself on a specific WordPress page. Akismet filtered out the rogue comments but page views continued to register like crazy. Got rid of it finally by including the specific IP on cPanel's "IP Deny Manager".

VERY active comment spammer on my Wordpress blog...pls block this server! I am getting 10's of spam messages every couple of hours. Another 26 a few minutes ago.
The interesting thing - WOrdpress filters these as "pings" on the "Comments, Spam" page. Why? I have to mark them as Spam or delete them....and they're clogging my admin area. December 26 2008 03:24 PM |
