S. Soileau you CAN do something about it. I was having the same problems with one of my sites so I blocked the IP Address using the command iptables (do a Google search on 'defend your webiste iptables).

I'm assuming you're running Linux. If you're running Windoze then God help you...

This IP is spamming my site. There are hits coming every few seconds. They had atempted to leave comments with pornographic material attatched. Since about 9:30 pm Tuesday, April 14 until now, noon Thursday April 16, there has been over 2000 hits from this IP. My server detected the address is in Sweden but can do nothing to stop it.
If anyone can help, PLEASE contact me!!!
