I'm using a template system and was having some trouble adding the link code to my site. It kept giving me "Unexpected < " as an error. I think I may have it on the right page now, but how can I be sure?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you trying to add a QuickLink?

The last part of the install is to insert code into one or more of your webpages. That's what I was trying to do.

Are you using a plugin of some variety? The honey pot script itself doesn't insert any code into any of your web pages. The more details you provide, the more likely it is that I can figure out what's going on.

After creating, it says the following:

"In order to begin catching harvesters you should link as many of your existing pages as possible to the new honey pot page. Ideally, you should include links that harvesters can find, but humans are unlikely to visit."

And then it gives some links to pages. So, that was what I was trying to do. I thought the links were a mandatory part of the thing, and was the way they got directed to the honeypot.

Yes. You just need to include those links on any pages in your site. Some people add them to the header or footer of their blog so they appear on every page. Some people just put them on the contact page. Whatever works for you. The more places you include them, the more likely it is that bad robots will follow them.

Whose http:BL plugin are you installing? From the URLs it appears it's for phpBB, but can't be sure. Seems whatever you're installing is not a standard Project Honey Pot installation, so not sure how much we can help. But will do what we can.... if you point us to whatever software you're installing.

Matthew.
