Hi I'm getting the same error when trying to run the script for the first time. Its not PHP because I have lots of PHP scripts running ok.

That's strange. Typically the problem of not being able to contact the server comes up when you're using free web hosting where outbound connections from your server are not allowed. I don't think that's true in your case, but you should check to make sure that your hosting provider allows out-bound connections from your box.

It could be that our servers were not responding for some reason this morning. I've verified that they're up and running now, so try it again and see if it works. If not, send us the URL of your honey pot via the Contact Us form and we'll check into it some and see if we can figure out the problem.

Sorry for the trouble!

I've got exactly the same problem and I wouldn't know on earth's name why because hotlinking protection is completely off.. Isn't there any other way to test if outbound connections are bounced by my server?

grtz

Turns out that I need to deactivate a feature in SELinux to allow scripts to connect to the external internet.

I think that some exception catching might make things easier. Also it would be great to run the script from the shell.
